Douglas E. Prete

Doug Prete is Talisman’s Director, New Site Acquisition. In this position he is responsible for the marketing and sales of Talisman’s software and systems. Prior to joining the Company Mr. Prete was an independent consultant in the areas of Quality, Regulatory and Training in the blood and tissue industries.

Mr. Prete holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. He has over 25 years of experience in the blood bank industry in roles ranging from CEO of an independent transfusion service, COO of a community blood center to senior vice president for quality and regulatory compliance in both the blood and tissue industries. He was the first to lead a three center quality, regulatory and training resource sharing group made up of three independent blood centers. Mr. Prete also chaired the ABC Subcommittee on Quality that was instrumental in the development and implementing America’s Blood Center’s cGMP “Train the Trainer” Program (now in its fourth iteration as IMPAQ II) and Regulatory Resources’ CITINGS, a blood bank inspection monitoring project. Mr. Prete served on a FDA committee that consulted on a FDA funded project on computer–assisted blood donor screening. Mr. Prete was one of the founders of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Blood Banks and received the Mary C. Door Meritorious Service Award for outstanding service to that association.
